Remove The Ego Veil, So You Can Shine Brightly

When my son came out as gay, I was a Christian leader in a Charismatic Church. Even though I knew what Paul says in the book of Corinthians that; “homosexuals will not inherit the Kingdom of God,” I also knew my son was born gay, it wasn’t a choice he made. In my depression; caused by fear of what people would think; when the word got out, that he’s come out. I laid on my bed and had a vision.

In the vision my son and I were standing in my prison cell of fear, that I had dwelt in for quite some time. It was beautifully decorated with rugs and wall hangings. Surrounding the prison cell/cage were people (family, friends, pastors etc.) yelling he’s gay, he’s gay, he’s gay!

My son stepped towards the open door, and then turned around, stretched out his hand to me and said; “come on mom!” It was in that moment I knew, I had a choice to stay in the prison cell of; worrying what people think, or accept and affirm my son is in fact gay.

I took his hand, and we stepped onto what looked like a yellow brick road. As we walked towards a Celestial City miles ahead of us, pieces of our body suits began to fall off, and the light that we are, shinned brightly through the cracks and fallen bits.

Not long after I received this vision, I cried out to The Divine asking how to reconcile the Bible verse in Corinthians, that tormented me. I say tormented because like most Christians, I believed every aspect of the Bible is the inspired word of God. All I heard from the Divine at that time was; “go love your son unconditionally and then come back and ask that question.” After 6 months of intentionally loving, accepting and affirming my son’s sexuality, I asked the question again, in which The Divine asked me;”Who wrote that?” I said; “The Apostle Paul,” and all I heard from The Divine was; “exactly!”

This vision and conversation with the Divine brought me so much peace and freedom in knowing that we are not these body suits. In fact, if we believe we are these body suits, we will experience a tremendous amount of pain and suffering. Believing we are bodies, creates a sort of blockage rooted in judgement.

Within each of us, (spirits) dwells this bright light. Some lights shine brighter than others, because some beings have worked to remove the egotistical veils of fear and judgement, that masks their True identity.

This veil (Egotistical Programmed Mind) is what gives us perspectives that causes our pain and suffering.

I’m confident that most people want to be set free from pain and suffering. Which means;

1. They will have to know; what they Truly are as a spiritual being/one with the Divine!

2. They need to be made aware of their egotistical veil (mind) and to no longer give into it.

Essentially we are on a journey of remembering what we Truly are. Jesus says in A Course In Miracles; “What is a miracle but this remembering? And Who is there in whom this memory lies not? This light in one awakens it in all. And when you see it in each other, you are remembering for everyone.”

Spiritual books such as the Bible speak to us at our level of consciousness. Once we begin to remove the egotistical veils we also start seeing the deeper meaning of scripture.

2 Corinthians 3:14-17

But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains un-lifted, because only through Christ is it taken away. Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts. But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom

The veil is the egotistical mind, and it is only taken away through Christ! Meaning; when we are willing to leave our egotistical prison of fear, trust The Divine and know our oneness with the Spirit of the Lord.
